I earned a degree in Web Technologies with an emphasis in Graphic Design, along with a certification in Social Media Marketing. During my studies, I was honored to make the Dean's List every semester I was eligible, and I'm especially proud that some of my coursework continues to serve as examples for future students.
Today, I combine nearly three decades of self-taught experience with a formal education to build websites that are accessible, user-focused, and designed to help businesses grow.
When I'm away from my keyboard, I'm a wife, a devoted dog mom, an avid traveler, and a lifelong music lover. I can pick up objects with my toes, grew up with two pet mountain lions, and spent part of my youth as a Civil War reenactor with the 24th Iowa Volunteer Infantry. Life has never been boring—and I think that's exactly what fuels my creativity.
Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I discovered web design in 1996. GeoCities became my playground, and thanks to the liberal use of View Source, I taught myself HTML by building websites for my many creative pursuits. (Role-playing games and fan fiction, if we're being perfectly honest.)
I originally attended college for Interior Design and spent several years working in the furniture and housewares industry while continuing to design websites in my spare time. Through online tutorials, books, and countless hours of practice, I continued refining my skills until 2015, when I decided to turn my passion into a career and return to college.
Whether I'm lighting up a stage, breaking down digital safety myths, or creating content that makes you spit your coffee, I bring the same thing to everything I do: truth, presence, and a touch of chaos.
As a lifelong performer and Gen-X tech native, I blend storytelling, humor, and hard-earned wisdom to connect with audiences of all kinds—online and off.
From keynote talks on creator safety to gritty voiceover reads and cinematic content with punch, I don’t just show up—I make it unforgettable.
